How long should it take to adjust to a new job?
I always thought around 3 months, but I have been at my new job that long and I definitely don't feel fully adjusted yet.

Re: How long should it take to adjust to a new job?
Well, I'm here almost 6 months and I'm very comfortable and have a total handle on things. I'd say it took me 2 months. I came in at a crazy time and left that first day crying, thinking I'd made a mistake, but soon enough, it felt good here. The people are great and it's so laid back.

6 mos to really become friends with my work friends, but about 3 months to know all the aspects of the job. 6 months to really love it here (which has more to do with the people I work with--I love them--than what I do).

It usually takes me about 2 - 3 months to adjust.

Re: How long should it take to adjust to a new job?
At my current job, I found that after 3 months, I started to feel more comfortable and after 6 months, I would say I felt "adjusted." But I honestly think that the first year of a job can be really tough.

Re: How long should it take to adjust to a new job?
Thanks guys. You are really making me feel better. I guess I am being a little hard on myself. I really expected to be fully adjusted by now.
It especially sucks because my only "friend" in the office left after I was only here a month. There is only one other female attorneys here and she is 50 and so busy, she is never around the office. So I don't even feel like I have anyone here I can bounce things off of to see if anyone else went through this.
