Re: How long do you save:
We don't get paper pay stubs anymore and haven't probably for 5-6 years.
I shred all bills after I get the next one unless there's something I'm disputing, etc.
For some reason I keep all the medical statements ... but probably shred the next year.

Re: How long do you save:
I usually keep them a year or two - depending on when I clean out my files. DH on the other hand keeps them forever!

I file everything in an acordian file folder. At the end of the year I box everything up just in case I need something.

hmm... an acordian file folder... that is a good idea... we are in the bad habit of throwing everything into a basket and then it collects for 6 months, then i go through it all and put in the filing cabinet... it takes FOREVER... and it is so unorganized, i hate it...

Re: How long do you save:
I save everything for a year. All bills go into an accordian file separated by month, so when I file away bills for this August, I'll shred the ones from last August. I keep my paystubs in a separate box and at the end of the year I usually shred January through November. I hold on to December to make sure my tax statements are correct, but then I toss them.

Re: How long do you save:
I don't save anything except the mortgage statements anymore. It's all available online now so I just shred the paper bill after I pay it.
