I do. I'm also (not surprisingly) highly allergic to penicillin.

Ditto to both for me too.

No, it makes me feel like I have a flu. Body aches, sore throat, etc. Regular allergies (trees and grass) make my nose, eyes, scalp and ears itch, but not my skin.

Re: Does anyone suffer from a mold allergy?

Yes. I first learned about it when I was in HS working in a house converted into business office. The upstairs was leaking into a back room that I was working in. The entire wall under the wall paper was covered in mold.

ETA: It makes fluild build up in my ears and nose, and throws off my equilibrium and I can walk witout feeling dizzy.

Re: Does anyone suffer from a mold allergy?

I do. My eyes get watery, they swell and get itchy. My throat closes up and my ears hurt/get itcy. It's hard to breathe as well, and I scratch at my throat a lot.

No rash on my body, but then again, I'm not exposed to it over long periods of time.

I do. I am highly allergic to mold, dust, pollen, wool, etc. Does it make me itch? Yes! I break out in hives. Bumpy red welts all over. I seriously hate my skin sometimes.

ETA: same for mildew. Seasonal allergies give me the watery, itchy eyes and sneezes

I have really bad mold allergy. Living in a basement apt for close to 7 years didn't help. I am currently doing siblingual drops instead of bi weekly allergy drops. Have you been tested yet? Testing is so much funChat Icon

No but I work in a basement office and they do not have a dehumidifier. Over the weekend my itching, etc was soo much better. Almost as soon as I got to work it started again.

They thought it was internal so took blood but nothing. I now go to the allergist on Thursday.

I had my allergies come on very badly last year. Before that I never knew I had them. I was told to see an allergist but I skipped him and went right to an ENT. I was tested for cats, dogs, molds, mildews, trees and a bunch of other things. They basically prod you with this small pinsized thing(it has about 12 or so different pins on it. Each one will be a different mixture to see what you're allergic to. Typically it is does in two appointments because they have to test you for a lot of things. I unfortunately had to have surgery because of them. Best of luck with the appointment.

Re: Does anyone suffer from a mold allergy?

My penicillin allergy is the worst. I have never had penicillin - had a derivative of it once and immediately (within 5 minutes) was covered in hives. So no penicillin for me - EVER.

My mold allergies are bad in the fall for some reason. That's when I get the watery / itchy eyes and sneezing. I also get congested and dizzy from the sinus congestion. Sometimes, it makes me sluggish -- just overly tired and blah.

I think allergies can affect different people different ways, though. Just look at the myriad of ways listed here!

Re: Does anyone suffer from a mold allergy?

If you have any questions let me know. I am on a daily medicine for my allergies. As well as the drops. And something for my nose. The fun never ends.

That could definitely be a mold allergy. Good luck with the testing!
