Any dentists and/or dental hygienists here?
I have an anxiety problem surrounding going to the dentist. I went today (after many years) and was shocked to hear that I have moderate periodontal disease.
I was given an estimate to treat it...  !!!
I'm hoping maybe there's someone I can talk to about the treatment, and what they're charging me. I'm new to this area, and want to make sure I'm not being taken for a ride.

I'm not sure what "moderate" means, but I've always found that when contemplating expensive work, its best to get a second opinion. I've found this to be especially true with dentists as I've had a few bad experiences with "top" (i.e. take no insurance whatsoever) dentists.
