Reconnecting with old friend...
"Jane", "Anne" and I were best friends in HS. I lost touch with Jane three years ago, before she had her 1st child. I had emailed her at her work but I don't know if she remembered my email address. She became a SAHM shortly after her leave ended.
Anne works in the same town Jane lives in and talks to Jane when she runs into her. Jane tells her to say "hi" to me, but never asks for contact info, etc.
Jane gave birth to her 2nd child recently. The local news ran a story on it because her DH saw the birth via webcam. He's in Iraq. He's been there for 2 years. (She got pg while he was on leave last year.) I knew he had been deployed but I thought he had finished his tour long ago. Jane shies away from attention. I think that's why she never told Anne any of this when they ran into each other.
I feel for her and all that she had to endure alone. And I feel for her DH for all he had to miss. (I knew him pretty well too, they were HS sweethearts.) I found her parents' address online. Would it be weird to send her a letter? Does that seem stalker-ish?

Re: Reconnecting with old friend...
I would send it to her parents house. I did that last year with an old friend. I sent her a birthday card and now we keep in touch via emails and the occasional lunch.

Not at all stalkerish! I'm sure she would love to reconnect but felt like she was imposing on your life. What's the wort that could happen, she doesn't call back?

Definitely send the letter. My daughter recently reconnected with a friend of hers she hasn't seen in almost 13 years. It's as if they never lost touch.

Go for it. DH had a friend who reconnected with him by sending a letter to his parent's house. It was the only address they had for him.

Re: Reconnecting with old friend...
I say send it - it sounds like a nice way to re-connect - it leaves the door open to either respond to you or not.
Good Luck!
