spinoff on hating bills - I HATE KEYSPAN

We closed on our house in the beginning of May. We are renovating, so the gas is turned off from the main into the house. Keyspan sends us a bill for $87. I'm call them and tell them that can't be possible. They tell me to read the meter myself and call them with the reading. I do this, the reading is more than 200 less than what they "estimated" it to be.
So they tell me they will adjust the bill and send me a new one.
So the new bill comes, and I am thinking, ok, it should be nothing, or next to nothing. Um, no, its for 197 freaking dollars
What is wrong with them?????????????? Now we have to call AGAIN!!


Sorry for the tirade. I am frustrated.

Keyspan and LIPA are both pains with their estimated bills. I've gotten bills for $300 and then next next month when it was actual it was $50. Good Luck dealing with them.

better yet..Keyspand estimated my bill for 2 years! yes two years! they were knocking on the basement door instead of front door! (dumbass) and now..I get to pay 1000.00 back pay...lucky farging me.
