Anyone please care to share their Keyspan/LIPA bills with me?
I just got my first Keyspan and LIPA bill as a homeowner. It was only for 18 days and seems pretty high to me: $135 for Keyspan and $155 for LIPA. Can you please share what you have been paying recently so I have some sort of comparison? I really appreciate it, thanks. Oh, also, how often do you pay these bills...every month, 2 months? Oh, and if it says "estimated meter reading", when do they take an exact reading and do they adjust your bill?

we just got our lipa bill for 2 months and it was $243. It seems like they are going to do the reading every other month, so i guess we get billed every other month..I think i'd rather get one every month.
We have oil and just got a contract and the budget plan.- thats going to be $245/month
its expenseive..  
somewhere on your lipa bill it will tell you on or about when the next reading would be. Ours said they would read it on 11/18 and they came 11/22.
Our first bill was in sept and that was for $59 (but we were only in the house for a month)
Since then, they added some kind of fuel surcharge.

Our Lipa bill has been about 80 bucks for the last 2 months. Keyspan WAS 60, but with thew new "charges" and all, it was 104 this month, and it till prob stay around that amount

My LIPA is $242.00 every month
Keyspan is about $8.00 every other month

I'm really shocked at the spread. It seems like that's a crazy amount for some people and normal for others. I don't know what to think now. I'll have to go home and look--I hope they estimated the meter reading too much, because that's a crazy price to pay if not. It'll be as cold and dark in my house from now on as the North Pole.

We're on balanced billing and our electric went from $115 to $168 and KeySpan went from $160 to $315. I called and it's due to the price of gas and the surcharges associated with fuel.
I work for the company too. So we feel your pain as well.

Our budget billing is now at $350 a month. My DH is really not happy. I dont know what our key span is. We went from $160 during the summer to $350.

Electric: $200/month - more in summer, less in winter
Keyspan: $250/month - more in winter, much less in summer

Our LIPA bill has been about $100/month for the last two months. But, we both work so there is noone home most of the day.
This month will be more cuz of the Christmas lights.
We have oil heat...so no Keyspan.

Thanks everyone. I guess my bills aren't so off. My LIPA was too much. I went and checked the meter, and even days after the end of the billing period, my meter is less then the estimate, so that will go down. Keyspan I'm going to call and complain because it turns out our meter was broken and leaking gas, so I'm not really sure if what we got was even close.
I don't understand why some people get billed every month and some every other. At this point though, if you haven't gotten a bill, I'd call.
