UPDATE on my "cardiac" situation
I'll give more details if anyone is interested but here is the basic situation:
So far my test results are coming back okay but I need to have more. My blood pressure is low and my doctor feels that with the heat and humidity, I am becoming dehydrated even though I drink GALLONS of water every day. He wants me to increase my salt/ sodium intake so that I can retain more water and raise my blood pressure. My mom taught me all my life never to take in too much salt, and I always listened to that, so I don't get much sodium in my diet.
I still have more tests to see if this is the only reason I have weird symptoms. I am on a heart monitor today and I will be on a different one all next week. I can do whatever I want, though.
Doctor said that this is not the time to worry about retaining TOO MUCH water b/c I should be retaining some in pregnancy and they'll be monitoring me.

It sounds like your cardiologist is very on top of things! I had to wear both a halter monitor and an event monitor. It really helped the Drs figure out what was triggering my palpitations.

Oh wow Kerie. Sorry that you are going through this, but I'm glad they are monitoring you. How does it physically make you feel? I hope they can figure this all out and you have an uneventful pregnancy!!!

It will be hard to adjust to eating more sodium filled foods but they are monitoring you so thats good.

I know. I am having trouble thinking of salty foods that I actually want to eat and I am used to my food without added table salt. I love salt bagels and would never allow myself to have them often because I thought salt was so bad. So there is one food.
