im very confused
i went to dr rosenfeld today. and his impression is that it is not my dh that is causing the infertility.....which conflicts what my dh's urologist says. he was nice but with nerves like mine i didnt feel any bedside manner. the exam and sonogram took 5 minutes and i just felt so uncomfortable. he said it looks like i was going to be ovulating and it was a shame my dh would not be home tonight to bd. so his conclusion is to chart with the basal thing, have bloodwork on day 3 and he wants me to go for a hysterogram. that is what sent me into a panic. i really dont want to have it done, im absolutely pertrified of tests. i had an endoscope done a few years ago and i was hysterical until they put me out. did you all have hysterograms? did anyone chose not to have one? i just dont understand how two drs have two different opinions of the situation. i was so prepared to go in there him to look at my dh's sperm tests and say ok IUI is what we'll try. i dunno i feel kind of like i was on an assembly line.....i think i might wait for dh to finish his testing and than take it from there. i dunno. i know alot of you are doing things alot more invasive than this and i hope you dont think me a baby

Re: im very confused
I had an HSG, and it wasn't that bad at all. I felt some cramping during and afterwards, but took some aleve and a nap and i was fine. It wasn't as bad as my af cramping. I actually pushed for one, my doc wanted to put me right on Clomid, but since I had time before i can start the clomid I said "Hey, how about an HSG?" Good luck!

Re: im very confused
Honestly, if you weren't comfortable with him, I would find another RE. Either ask to consult with someone else at NSUH or see someone totally different. You may get the same answers, but you really want to be comfortable with your RE as you may be spending a whole lot of time with him/her.
ETA: As far as the HSG, you can request a sedative for it. It really isn't painful, just a tiny bit of cramping like a period. Take two Advil about an hour beforehand and you'll be fine.

Re: im very confused
I had two HSG's they weren't that bad. More importantly, i was the same way when i first met my RE and after talking to some people i decided to stick it out. I totally understand where you are coimng from, its like an ambush when there is this large difference in opinions with your care. Give yourself a few days to think it all over, and if you feel the same then go for a 2nd opinion. Good Luck
