Chablis is sick - long
My gorgeous baby Chablis (see avatar) has been diagnosed with Squamos Cell Carcinoma. I found a little lump on her jaw/cheek about 10 days ago, last Wednesday my Vet removed the lump and confirmed today that is is cancer. She has to go back in this Wednesday to have the surrounding cells removed to check they got it all out. It is an aggressive form of cancer. One thing for sure is that it will come back, it could lay dormant for 3 weeks or even a year. I am devastated. I got her & her twin when they were 6 weeks old. She is now 11. They moved with me from the UK. We have been together through thick and thin. She is my constant companion, she sits with me all the time and even follows me when I go to the loo, she cuddles up with me every night and pats my face to wake me up every morning (sometimes at 5am!) You wouldn't know that there was anything wrong with her, she is as cuddly as ever, playing and still has a great appetite, even breaking into the food cupboard and eating a whole packet of treats!
I just don't know how I will cope with this, I am so upset. I am also nearing the end of my latest IVF cycle and will porbably go in for retrieval on either Wednesday (hope not - Chablis surgery day) or more likely Thursday. Ever feel like life keeps kicking your arse?
Please keep your fingers crossed for her. I have faced the fact that as long as she continues to have a good quality of life then I'm happy, but once she seems not to, it will be time to let her go

You know how sorry I am that you and Chablis are going through this. I truly hope she goes into remission for a long, long time.

My cat had that same cancer, I understand how you feel.
