This is a no brainer! You've got to do what is right for you. And from what you said your current company is only looking out for itself right now anyway....don't even feel bad about it.

I am going to take the job! I can't give my notice until Tuesday because my bosses are out today.

I hate that part!! haha

I would take the new job...if this is an opportunity that won't come by so easily again then you have to think of yourself.

It's not personal - it's business and if your company had to make a decision that would impact you they would follow the same thinking - it's business. Go with what works best for you.

Wow... You sound like me! Im in kind of similar situation. The only advice that I can give to you is something I really need to start doing myself. You have to do whats best for you- and ONLY YOU.

If you dont look out for yourself, no one else will. Please remember that. A headhunter once told me. People are dedicated to people- not companies. Employees will come & go but opportunities like this wont.

TAKE IT. Don't ever pass on anything bc you feel sorry for someone else. At the same time, you don't want to burn any bridges. Give your standard 2 week notice (or more if the new job will be ok with that) and assure your current job that until your last day you will do everything you can to make this a smooth transition. good luck!

Go for it! You'll regret it and resent your company if you don't. Not many opportunities like this come around often.

did your company think about your well being when they piled someone else's work on you without any compensation?

Give 2 weeks and take the other job! Sometimes we forget that we need to look out for ourselves before our employers!

I'm kind of in a similar situation myself (although I haven't been offered a job yet). I'm looking to get out of my current position (I work in a 3-person office). One girl just quit a couple of weeks ago, so my leaving now would be a huge problem for my boss. But if the opportunity presents itself, I am gone.

As much as you would leave them in the "lurch," you have to make the decision that is best for you. Your current employer will just need to find a way to adapt.
