for me, i would let it roll off UNTIL she does something similar again. then you know that she has a problem with you and is trying to show you up. until then, be the bigger person.

Thank you ladies. I'm going to let it slide and be the bigger person.
We just had another little "tiff" and the other new person that started at the same time as her said "Don't bite the hand that feeds you" to her! My jaw just dropped b/c that's exactly how I feel!
Looks like she's going to be an "issue." Too bad she doesn't realize that I review her come year-end.
whoa. I'd expect that there will be many other "tiffs" in the future.
You could start deciding that the goal is to get rid of her and start documenting the snide comments and share with your manager and the person that chose to hire her.
Another thing to do is to take her to lunch, tell it like it is and watch for improvement. Bring a witness.

I would just let it slide. It's not worth saying anything IMHO. However, I would keep it in the back of my mind and watch this chick like a hawk. Perhaps she's not well-versed in corporate etiquette, perhaps she's just immature, and perhaps it's both. She's new and has to prove herself and only she can do that. Sounds like the type of person who would hang herself given enough rope, so to speak.
