Has there been anything said about the shooters parents??
did he have parents .....did they know he was a danger??

They were Korean immigrants that owened or worked at a dry cleaner. That is all that i have heard.

I've heard the other day that they both had to be hospitalized, b/c they are/were so distraught that their son did the terror that he did.

I just heard they were "hard working nice people" haven't even seen a pic of them of anything. Strange  Im sure they dont want to advertise who they are now.

They live in VA too. They came here when he was 8 or so.

I only heard about his parents in terms of 2005 when they called the school & told officials he was suicidal..
I know his sister is a Princeton graduate & has works for the US Government on something with Iraq

I asked the EXACT same thing to DH this morning when we were watching the news. I was shocked that they haven't mentioned much about them! Yet they can automatically start blaming everything else... ie: music, books etc.
I was like "WHAT ABOUT HIS PARENTS!?!?"
It just frustrates me when they start blaming all other sources except for where he's come from.

From what was said on MSNBC this morning, they believe the parents were put into to hiding for their own protection. The grandfather who is 81 made a statement that he wished he had died so he wouldn't have to live with what his grandson did.

In today's Daily News they printed an interview the maternal Grandfather gave to a paper in South Korea.
He said that the parents struggled to make ends meet, they couldnt call Korea that much because of the $$, the Mother missed her mothers funeral 12 years ago because of $$, the sister had gotten a small scholership to Harvard but had to go to Princeton instead.

I read that while they were nice and polite none of the neighbors knew them more then to say hello, never been invited into their home, very quiet people

He brought shame to their family and as far as I remember from my studies, that is a HUGE issue in Korean culture.
I am sure they are distraught about losing him and about his actions, but I do not think they will ever come out and speak publicly about it.

If he was truely mentally ill which he appears to be then you really can't blame his parents.
