What's the weather like up there?

As bad as they predicted?

We got a lot of rain, and this AM, some snow/sleet. It was NASTY, but not even close to as bad as they predicted. I mean, if my daughter's daycare is OPEN today, and they close at the drop of a hat, then I'd say they really overreacted around here

Cold and rainy in the city. Central Park got almost 8 inches of rain. It's a pain, but at least it is spread out over time so it won't flood the train tunnels.

In Westchester it is, especially in the towns on the Long Island Sound.

Some area were evacuated. Most schools are closed.
All of the parkways are at least partially closed in lower Westchester.

The water is almost touching the 3rd rail on the Metro North tracks in Tuckahoe, so trains are cancelled.

I stayed home today for other reasons but I know my dad was stuck on the LIRR for about 1hr 30 mins going to Penn - they were saying the trains were running about 45 mins behind.

DH had to go to court in Kings and he said the trains were a little delayed as well.

I think that it is pretty good just some flooding

My train was running an hour late... I should have stayed home!! There is no one here anyway!

We are in Eastern Long Island and it was very windy, but other than that, just like a very bad rain storm. I didn't think it was nearly as bad as they made it out to be last night.
