Yeah this is why I sometimes eat lunch by myself in my classroom...after talking non stop for 4 periods...I need a break and I need to sit in a quiet place

I love it. With my hectic schedule I just love being left alone to truly relax.
I also have the issue that those close to me do not understand and they sometimes take it personally

I love solitude! I am also an only child and I have no problem spending time by myself. I actually enjoy it sometimes.

i love shopping alone. i kind of like travelling for business alone.
i make fun days for myself and no one is there to complain.
i went from a client meeting to a tanning salon to a client lunch to getting my nails done. what coworker of mine would allow that?
and when i shop ill spend 3 hours in one store. no one to complain about me taking long.
i like being alone for the most part. as long as i know soon ill see my dh later that day, im usually loving the solitude!

Yes, I need it. I like to shop alone often. I clear my head. Ballet is my "me time," too....I have always liked to be alone at certain times. DH knows and respects it.

OMG thank you for posting this. Since I've become pregnant I stopped working and I spend most days alone. I LOVE it. I love my own company and not having to chit-chat with random people all day. MY IL's constantly ask me "what do you do all day? don't you get bored?"....it gets very frustrating to explain to people that have to be doing things with others all the time that I like being alone.
I can stay by myself for days and be perfectly content. I read, watch tv, spend time on LIF...it's great.

The older I get, the more I enjoy spending time alone...with my dog lol. I mean I love spending time with my husband, friends and my family but I also don't mind going shopping by myself or just spending time alone at home. I find it so peaceful, no rush, I can put on my music and do whatever I want.

LOVE IT !
although I could NEVER work at a "solitary confinement" kinda job, like a toll bridge person, or a front desk person...
does that make sense?  
actually, shopping, I dO BEST BY MYSELF, whether its groceries or clothing. I know a few people that take the whole family (grown kids!) to buy even a gallon of milk, makes me nuts
But I LOOOVE me time. I organize my thoughts, work on things I have going on, clean up, listen to music...
I have a blast alone
and with 3 kids, it peps me up for coming home to them  
this morning, I had a good 3 hours by myself, running my errands, I LOVE that part of my day. (and DH hates errands, so we work well together )
and when I get home, the boys are all over me as soon as I walk in the door  , hubby gets all the bags of stuff I bought, and everyone had a great time  
ETA: so I LOVe my "breaks" of solitude, but overall Im NOT an alone type person day in and day out. NO NO NO.
I need to interact with people, socialize and keep movin...

I definitely enjoy solitude. I am not one who needs to spend weekend after weekend entertaining/being entertained.
I, too, work with kids with special needs and I'm always "on". It's refreshing to know that I can go home and relax after crazy days at work.
I, too, am misunderstood about liking solitude. Don't get me wrong, I love hanging out with friends occasionally, but to know that I can still be selfish with my time/space (no kids yet) it's refreshing.

Wow, I wish I were like you girls. I feel the need to be surrounded by people and I do not like being alone. It makes me feel so needy sometimes. I have to force myself to do things alone. But maybe I should put more of a "me-time" spin on it. I don't know...maybe its because I can be an anxious person if left to my own devices. My thoughts can run off...
Any advice for me? (not to hijack the thread)
