Re: Do you enjoy doing activites by yourself/alone?
Same here- I've eaten in casual diners/delis alone- but never nice restaurants, movies or travelling. I love shopping a taking walks alone- and quilting- that's about it!

Re: Do you enjoy doing activites by yourself/alone?
I can eat in a restaurant by myself, go to movies alone, etc. I have never traveled alone, but I don't think I would like it- I'd always wish there was someone to share the fun with. One thing I HATE doing alone is grocery shopping. It makes me feel really lonely.

Re: Do you enjoy doing activites by yourself/alone?
I've eaten breakfast in diners alone (while traveling for work) and lunches but not a "real" restaurants. I prefer to have a book or newspapaper though. I went to Europe by myself but I was signed up to go on a Kontiki tour which is a lot of young people in a group - a lot of people go alone on those things because you are going to be hooked up with a roommate and in a group. But, I went on my own - it was scary and liberating!

Ok let me clarify
Can you go the movies by yourself, out to eat at a restaurant alone, go to a concert solo, take a vacation by yourself.....?
I consider myself a very independent person. I lived alone for quite a long time before I met/married DH, and I certainly do not need company constantly- I truly loooove my alone time. I can go to a movie alone, no biggie.
But the things I cannot do: I have NEVER been able to bring myself to go to a restaurant and eat alone, or travel solo. I cannot go to a concert or anything "interactive" by my lonesome.
I truly admire those who CAN do that, its so liberating I'm sure. I just feel so lonely and bored in those venues without someone to share it with
No i would never go to do any of those things alone.... I would just feel weird
Me either. I wouldn't be able to do these things alone.

I can't really do many things alone, which is bad but I always need company.

Re: Do you enjoy doing activites by yourself/alone?
Ive done a lot of travelling for the job on my own... so there were a lot of times I went out to dinner on my own.
Didn't bother me too much cause I was eating an $80 meal.
Just hand me the paper or stick me by a TV and I am fine.

Absolutely NOT....not a movie, not a restaurant..the only thing I can do alone is shop or walk around looking. I am so needy, it's disgusting.
Lucky for me, Rich loves to do EVERYTHING together...including food shopping!

Never. I could never even go to the movies or eat at a restaraunt alone. I'd rather eat in my car than even eat subway alone in a restaraunt.

Re: Do you enjoy doing activites by yourself/alone?
When I was 29 I took an escorted tour of Europe by myself. I wasn't ballsy enough to really do it alone (and I think that would have bored me a little). I loved traveling like that beause when I wanted to be with a group, there were other people I liked (and there were a handful of us solo travelers) and when I wanted to take off on my own I didn't feel an obligation to them. Then I was in London for three days totally by myself, and that was great too. I went to a few plays by myself and took a walking tour. I met more people along the way who were traveling alone.
I've had quick, casual meals alone, but I have never been out to a nice place by myself.
Traveling alone is very empowering to me.
And I HATE shopping with people.
