Why is Dh is being so difficult

Our contract expired 12/31 and we decided not to renew with them again. I met with another agency today and I was very happy with him and what he had to offer. Their commission was a total of 5%: 2% going to the selling broker and 3% going to the listing agent. I didnt have a problem with this and they will not take our listing on other terms as far as the commission is concerned. They see it as all the advertising and marketing they will be doing. DH will not agree to this at all. He thinks we should keep it 3% to the selling broker and 2% to the listing which is the way we had for the last 2 months. We did see more activity but I think the advertising was limited. He also will not budge on the price and is now considering listing the house himself and dropping the house another $25,000 if we sell it on our own. I dont feel this is the market to be doing a FSBO. Our home was on the market for 6 months with not one offer and he really dont believe price is a factor yet I do.
Do you think the FSBO is worth it for 2 weeks?

FSBO is not worth it for two weeks. you have enough goign on in your life to have to sell your house yourself.

smack some sense into your DH!

Thank you!! I really dont want to be moving with a new born in the born and a 15 month old if it takes anotehr 6 months. If our house was priced right I think it would have been sold right away.

Re: Why is Dh is being so difficult

I just bought FSBO and the guy had it on the market for 3-4 weeks...We were seriously looking and knew what we wanted and how much we wanted to spend. He was moving and came down on the price because he didn't have to pay a realtor...

if you are going to go FSBO, definitely list in newsday - I always looked at MLS, VLS, and newsday for houses.
