What turns you on?
I can't get enough of wood molding around doorways and windows. Love it.
Open floor plans. Bright, sunny colors in the kitchen. Stainless steel appliances.
And sunrooms. I just imagine the potential, with my tropical plants.

Cool details, like intersting windows, mouldings, other features, which, in my experience, I mostly see in older houses.

Re: What turns you on?
It's so funny you posted this.
Years ago my friend bought a house and was describing all of the kitchen items he picked out and I said to him... "Hey, you really know how to turn me on don't you?" "Granite and cherry make me hot"
Colonials Floor plans that flow nicely for entertaining fireplaces molding, molding, molding quality all wood cabinets hardwood floors- I'm a high gloss girl 6 panel doors large diningrooms a good sized entrance master baths classic and traditional design
The house I bought was a colonial w/ the layout I wanted, two fireplaces, entrance and diningroom, w/ a tiny 3/4 master bath.
We created the rest ourselves.

Re: What turns you on?
Center hall colonials! It's what I grew up with and really the only layout I can imagine for us, though we may have to settle for less...

To see the potenial a house has. Noone is ever going to have the exact same taste as me so as long as the flow works for us and the bones are good and has room to expand then it will work for us.

Re: What turns you on?
When we were looking looking for a house that we wanted to settle in long term, and raise our children in,we looked for a really great area with lots of character, pref near water, with nice property& a great school district.
....even if the house itself isnt nice, you can always redo it, even if its a little at a time. But if the areas beautiful and the property is nice, then it has potential.
Oh I also love cul-de-sacs, lots & lots of old trees, and in the house lots of thick (pref mahoghany)crown moulding, breakfast nooks, lots of huge windows, antique hardware, trey ceilings, exposed beams, columns, fireplaces, center hall colonial with beautiful entryway, high ceilings, spiral staircase with custom wrought iron spindles, butlers pantry,oh & a beautiful custom kitchen&bathroom, oh and huge master bedroom closets w/vanity area!
