apartments- where to look?
besides: apartments.com (newsday) craigslist pennysaver church bulletin sublet.com
did i already check all the resources? or is there some other magical site out there? 
i feel like moving, but have a Very small search area... and dont feel like paying a REA. (we dont need to move, so its not rushed,,, im just bored, want something bigger, and want to have a dog!)

Do you want a private house...or a bldg?
If bldg, I would find info on the mgmt cos. and call them.

private house... only b/c the buildings around here are at least $2300 for a 1 bedroom, and IMO, thats ridiculous for a rental.

I would also check Stonybrook University's off campus housing site.. they have some listings on there, that's how I found my last two apartments!

Ask everyone you know. I got my last apartment from family friends. My brother knew they had an apartment and coincidentally, their current tenant was moving out a few weeks after he asked.
What about SUNY old westbury or NYIT - they might have off campus housing advertisements too. Good luck Neenie!
