Yup, I'm definitely pregnant
So I had my beta today at North Shore. Dr. Chu called me and said congrats! you're pregnant. I said thanks, I sorta thought I was (I tested).
She said yup, you are definitely pregnant! I go back in a week for more blood (I'm guessing another beta) and an ultrasound.
Is it weird I'm not going back for another week? I thought they'd want me to come back in 2 days? I am 13dp5dt today. So, next week I will be about 5 weeks. I thought that was a little early for an ultrasound? Not that I'm complaining. I'll take one any chance I can.
I just really hope this is it. I'm finding it hard to enjoy this. I had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks and I feel like I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I wish I could fast forward time!!

As far as being scared... I know the feeling. As you know, I had a loss later on too. Of course I can't speak from experience with another pregnancy yet, but I will say that when the time does come (hopefully starting this week  ) I am determined not to let the pain of my last pregnancy come between my enjoyment of this one. I know it's much easier said than done, but I keep reminding myself that losses at that point are RARE and in all likelihood, this will be the one that makes your dreams come true! I'm so excited for you!!!

Thanks Penny!!! I really hope this cycle is it for you too! You have a great attitude. My friend said the same thing--Don't let what happened in the past ruin this for me. She said to try to enjoy every minute because like you said losses are rare and she said it goes by so fast (she has two little ones). I'm trying to take her advice!!

Congrats!!! I understand your feeling scared, too. After my first m/c in 2007 I was so scared. When I was pregnant with my DD  I didn't tell a soul (except DH) until 11 weeks because I didn't want to get ahead of myself. But, in May 2008 I delivered a beautiful .
This past summer I was pregnant and couldn't relax and had another m/c and am TTC again - I know I'll be a wreck when it happens again too! I don't think you are ever the same after losing a baby. Just focus on eating healthy, resting, etc. and do what you can for yourself - it's the only thing in your control!

OMG, this post made my night!!!!!!!! I am sooooo happy for you, I've been rooting for you.
At NSUH, I only went back for follow up bloodwork and sonos weekly - I think its just their protocol as long as the HSG and Progesterone levels are good.

CONGRATS! What great news! Just remember that at only 5 weeks, you may not see much on the sono, but that's okay. Day to day when you are so early on in pregnancy there is so much that changes!
