I have always heard people talk about their "role" in their family... the black-sheep the brain the bad one the goody goody the pretty one
etc...
Did you have one?

Re: Your Role in the Family
The Responsible One.
My mom died suddenly when I was 8. I always really helped out around the house much more than was appropriate for my age (have always donw my laundry wince 8 years old) and I worked very hard in school. I got my masters at age 22. When my Dad had a stroke at 57 (I was 27) I dropped everything, moved back in with him, oversaw his finances, his care, repairs to the house, etc. until last year when DH and I got engaged.

Re: Your Role in the Family
i was the baby...youngest of three sisters. i was also the "quiet" one... in "quiet" i mean, I never showed my feelings, kept everything inside. i'm still considered mom's 'baby', but NO WAY do they still think i'm 'quiet'!!!!!
hmm...i wonder why??

Re: Your Role in the Family
I'm the responsible/book smart one. I raised my sister and took care of my dad since my mom wasn't "all" there. I was the one in the remarriage that came home, took the youngest stepbrother off the bus, got his snack, helped with his homework till someone else came home, then I went to work.
Wasn't the brightest when it came to common sense and BOY was I boy crazy. But I'm the oldest and it's always been my nature to care for others (DH is the youngest)

Re: Your Role in the Family
The responsible one... had a huge role in raising my brother and sister, still act as a mother to them... Took care of my nana when she was dying, planned a funeral, took care of my grandfather for 2 years after her death...all things I felt I should do and I dont regret them. But I am tired.

Re: Your Role in the Family
I was the stubborn and responsible one. I was always there to help out my "baby" brother and sister, do the dishes, laundry, etc. Always made sure the house was clean.

Me: The Brain, also known as Slave-girl because I always had chores and my brother never had to life a finger ...
My Brother: The Artist, also known as "Lovey" because my mother does anything for her little lovey-dovey.

Re: Your Role in the Family
The loud and moody one...the non-stop chatterbox.
I have always been honest and growing up I didn't have any tact...so I was kind of blunt and annoyed my family a lot.
Plus I'm kind of feared for my temper...they're silly!
