 | Your 3 month old and naps? Ds was taking great naps last week, and now all of the sudden he will take about 3 or 4 30 minute naps. He sleeps great at night, so im not complaining, 9pm to 7am, but is this 30 minute naps something i should get used to? |

 | Re: Your 3 month old and naps? Hey honey... I think it's a phase! DD goes through the same thing all the time.... Some days she naps for hours, and then other days it's a quick cat nap here and there.
I am trying to keep her consistent tho with her morning naps - usually she'll go down for about 2-3 hours, and then the later naps are about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours long.

 | Re: Your 3 month old and naps? According to everything I read, 30 minutes doesn't count as a nap. Most of the docs who do sleep research say it has to be 45 minutes or more.
It could be that your DC hasn't fully adjusted from the newborn catnapping to full on naps yet.

I know regular scheduled naps started for us at 3 months but my kids are really good sleepers
Once they got into a pattern they were precise, everyday at the same time, nappers. |

 | Re: Your 3 month old and naps? both of my kids were catnappers!Well one is 5 months old and still a catnapper unless we are driving a long distance or walking in the stroller...

Occassionally I get a long one, it's horrible!

My older DD grew out of it around 9 or 10 months...she is now 2 years old and I have to wake her from her naps!

 | Re: Your 3 month old and naps? honestly it could go either way! DS used to take a 45 minute nap and a 3 hour nap every day. Then he went through a phase of 3-4 20 minute naps, now he is doing a 45 min in the AM and 1-1.5 hour in the PM.
I figure as long as he is sleeping at night I can deal with not sleeping during the day! And as my MIL says, with a baby every day is a new day, you just never know.

 | Re: Your 3 month old and naps? I agree with Lisa that it is a phase. DD was doing the cat naps a couple of weeks ago and it was driving me insane....she was so crabby. This past week she had been back to her normal nap schedule. |
