yet another name spinoff....
would you ever not name your child after someone you could not stand?
for example, i like the name melissa, but it reminds me of someone from college who got on my last nerve, so i would never use that name. crazy? maybe a little, but thats me in a nutshell.
eta - no offense to any melissa's out there - nothing personal

nope , couldn't do it either.. no matter how much I liked a name, if I associated it with someone I did NOT like, it is history to me.
Unfortunately there are a LOT of really nice male names that I would NEVER use - purely based on all the crummy azzzhole ex's I had

That is the biggest problem we are having now with names. Cause certain names remind us of certain people in our lives. It makes it sooooo hard.

Definitely!!!!!!!! I love the name Laura but can't stand my cousin Laura so...there goes that name! Also love the name Fiona but that ws my sister's dog's name so...can't use that either.

definately. I have had that converstaion with so many people. If the names reminds me of someone I don't like I don't think I would be able to name a child that because I would always think of the other person.

Oh absolutely! There are quite a few names I can categorize and say I've known "x" # of "xs" and don't like them, and so I would never name my child that name.

There are a few other names, but, this one stands out most.

We thought about baby names for boys, and my DH would NOT use Nicholas, because there is this guy Nick who he HATES!!!!
I LOVE that name, but he will NOT budge on it.
