I feel like it has a certain style to it that needs to match the rest of the decor

It is not my taste but I agree that it depends on the style of the room. If traditional, no. Modern, yes.

Similar to what everyone else said, it depends. In my house, I think it would look OK in the computer room, but not my living room, only because of the style and decor of the two rooms.
