Yay or Nay to this rug? pics fixed

We just got new living room furniture and I've been looking for a rug.

I found one with the perfect colors but I can't decide if it is too busy with the pattern of our chairs. What do you think??

For me...Nay.
Between the throw pillows, the chairs, the rug, and even the wall accents, there's way too much flower action going on for my taste.

I like it a lot but don't think it goes with the chairs.

I really like the rug, but I think it clashes with the chairs. If the chairs were a solid color I would love it together.
OR maybe change the coffe table to cover up more of the rug. KWIM?

I dont like it with the chairs. I also think it might need to be a tad bigger. I was always told that the front of the furniture should sit on the edge of the rug

Nay, too busy. I'd get something with more color and less pattern. Also, try to get a bigger size so it's not floating and some of the furniture sits on top of it.

I agree-the size is too small for the room I think.

Re: Yay or Nay to this rug? pics fixed

I love mixing patterns, but something just doesn't look right. Maybe try some solid color lumbar pillows on the accent chairs to break up the patterns, because I think the chairs and the rug are a bit busy.

eta-- I also thnk you can do a bigger rug. I just got a bigger rug in my LR and all the furniture now sits on it a bit, i.e. front legs of couch and it really changes the look (for the better).

I think the rug is very pretty, but I would go for something where the predominant color is blue. Also, I think the rug could be a bit larger.

Nay with the chairs.

I really like it in the picture without the chairs though. Chat Icon

Re: Yay or Nay to this rug? pics fixed

I like it too.

Few suggestions:
I would incorporate a pop of color into your LR.. maybe a red or orange?

-the pieces above the couch need to be anchored. they are too high up.

I would perhaps move your couch (looking at the pic) to the left and the ottomon and rug as well

Move the chairs closer to the window but face them inward and take one of the side tables (one closest to the window) and put it between the two chairs

I agree 100%

ETA: I agree with whoever said you should incorporate some blue into the rug. I think you need something to tie-in/refer back to the blue wall soit looks more cohesive.

Re: Yay or Nay to this rug? pics fixed

I love the rug. it goes great in the room... even the pillows look good with it.

but

the chair pattern is what's not sitting right with me. i think they should be a solid pewter colored blue.
