i agree..I think the bedding sheet/comforter set is what will make it totally "boy-ish!" not necessarily the bed itself KWIM!?!?!

The bed is from IKEA. It's the Hemnes daybed with 3 drawers.
It's $399
The bed "slides out" to open to a double twin mattress too.
I think they have a black/Espresso color too with 2 drawers.

I dont think colors come anymore gender neutral than white. I say go for it.
DS had white nursery furniture.

I like it, but keep in mind that IKEA beds are smaller than US twin mattresses, so you are pretty much tied to using their bedding all the time too, no character bedding.
US Twin = 39" x 75"
IKEA children's mattress = 27.5" x 63"
