xpost- new here!
Hi everyone! I was a liw in 2010 and knew everyone over there...never transitioned to lif but now that we are thinking of ttc in January or February, I thought it was a good time to come over so HI EVERYONE!!
anyway, my real question is where to start if anyone wouldn't mind sharing their advice. im usually a big planner and researcher so its weird to not to no anything about the subject.
i dont have any little nieces or nephews even so im really out there...
help is appreciated!! anything like your favorite websites, books, which boards on here...anything at all. its just so much so i have no clue what i should read/do first.
Thanks!!

Re: xpost- new here!
Hi! Lots of ladies on here are a wealth of knowledge!
I just started but one good tip someone told me was signing up for Fertility Friend. It's a website (or phone app) that helps you keep track of your cycles and temperatures (if you temp).
Are you going to go off Birth Control prior to TTC? I know most doctors recommend doing that 2-3 months before you want to start trying. This will give your body a chance to regulate itself w/out the hormones of birth control.
Good Luck!!

Hi!I am not on BC, havent been for many many years. I have no idea about temping or anything like that...not even sure if I should maybe just go with the flow at the beginning to just see how things go without any testing.etc. or do you think I should at least sign up for fertility friend.
Thank you so much!

Re: xpost- new here!
hey!!
i wpould def read the first topic on this board..lots and lots of good stuf to know..and if u wanna pick up a book i would say taking charge of your fertility
but my best and ost honesta dvice is to just have sex...in the beginning when u r trying and u can just do the deed without protection and hope for the best..if a few cycles go by and nothing maybe get a opk to knwo when you ovulate...
i say what i say bc when u get to where some of us are at where it is taking tons of meds, monet and a doc to get you knocked up we long for the days of just regular sex..kwim?
best of luck to you, this board is great and the ladies r wonderful!
happy baby makiing

Welcome!! If you're not sure about when you ovulate, I would definetely start keeping track of your period. You can do this online, or with a phone app. You can also buy cheapie ovulation predictors which you start to use about 10 days after the first day of your period. Then do a whole lot of DTD!!

Re: xpost- new here!
well,
I read the maybeamommy thread above.
Then I asked the ladies some questions.
I think the way to start is to keep track of your cycle. Know that the first day of your period is CD1 (cycle day1) and that you ovulate, USUALLY, at CD14.
This is a comman day. OBVIOUSLY you can ovulate or "O" before of after.
The egg is good for about 24 hours, give or take, once its released.
Its reccomended to have sex the day before you ovulate and 2 days after. That way if you arent 100% sure, you are covered since spermies can live inside you for a few days. And again, the advice about sex, or baby dance or "BD" is not exact. Other women have other ways, this is a basic plan.
I use "OPK" or Ovulation predictor kits. I Pee on a stick or "POS" when i think I'm ovulating. Women here have reccomended the First response digital with the smiley face. Thats what I use. They are wicked expensive, but spot on (for me anyway). When you get the that means you should ovulate within 24/48 hours, or so (again, thats average). But women say there IS a 3 day window.
I know exactly what day I get my period and when I ovulate every month. I have been keeping track, and so should you.
Then, when you BD at the right time, you enter the 2WW, or the 2 week wait. Thats the time between BD and your period.
You. Cant. Have. Pregnancy. symptoms. unless. you. are. pregnant!
Women have POS with the pregnancy test as early 8DPO (8 days post ovulation) but its reccomended you wait. Can you? Its up to you. I personally have never POS that early, but thats me. Those things are wicked expensive! We have all gotten the cheepie dollar test wondolfo from Amazon. That way you can POS without using the FRER $$$ test (First Response, Easrly response pregany test).
If you get your period, your back to CD1.
Basically, there is a WHOLE bunch of things you can do. Lots of advice.
All I do is pee on the OPK and have sex for 2 days. I dont do anything else. Other women do.
Good luck!

Re: xpost- new here!
Welcome to the Board!!! This is the best site out there for support and help and to just blow off steam!!
DH and I are trying for our first. I seked the dr to make sure everything was good before we started trying. I had some abnormal bleeding for a while after I had a DC my body pretty much regualted itself. If you aren't sure when you ovulate I will buy some OPK's and there are so many websites out there to help. Fertility Friend is one of those. I recently started going to this website and it is very helpful and makes you understand youre body better.
Relax..breathe..and have fun!!!! Welcome Aboard!!!!
