WWYD? Unhappy with salon service

I have been going to salon/spa for many years. I've sent dozens of people to this place for services, and many wedding parties of my friends' there as well.

Today I went in for a full head of highlights. The stylist didn't show me the back of my hair with a mirror like they usually do, and from what I could see the highlights looked okay. I left around 1:30 and got home at 3:30.

When I got home I looked at my hair, and while I do see some highlights, there really aren't that many. I paid over $200 for a "full head" of highlights and feel like, at best, the service I received would be considered a partial head at other places.

I called right away to say that while I like the color the stylist chose and the cut, I'm not 100% happy because you can't tell that there any highlights were put in today. They scheduled me for a "redo" and I said I don't want it totally redone, I just want some more added in for the amount and service that I paid for.

The receptionist was very polite and understanding...until I asked if there is a charge for a "redo". She said she had to check with the owner and call me back. I'm still waiting for a call back.

I'm going to give her a little while longer to call me back, but I am thinking of going up there sine they are down the block from me.

Am I wrong that I don't think that I should have to pay? I am so upset that for what I paid you can't even tell I had anything done :/

I agree, I would not pay and I would have them add more highlites. I pay a fortune for mine as well and if I am not happy Id def. call and expect it to be free.

If you paid for a full head of highlights and feel that you didn't receive that service, I would not pay at all for a re-do. If you only paid for partial and decided you wanted more, that's obviously a different story and in that case I'd expect to pay for the added highlights. Hope everything get resolved and that you're happy with it!

Honestly unless it's very obvious that you have a full head of highlights and your just being a pain in the butt or you have complained every time you had your hair done any good salon or stylist would redo your hair completely free of charge! I wouldn't pay anything and if they even suggested it I would have someone else do it let them know I wouldn't be coming back!
