WWYD? Buying formula from Ebay/Cragislist

So, my DH found someone selling some Alimentum on Cragislist for less that what we usually pay with our $5 similac coupon. Finances are unusually tight and we are trying to cut back (I can see that he's worried for the 1st time ever).

Anyway, I'm a worrier so I'm not liking the idea of buying formula outside of a store. (although strangely, i wouldn't have a problem buying it from someone here ) His argument is that Similac bottles are sealed on the outside and again on the inside so as long as it's a sealed bottle, its ok.

I'm torn. WWYD? Would you be ok with buying the Alimentum if it was cheaper to save some $?

Me personally, no...I really don't know why specifically ( I'm not a paraoid type of person generally)

i have done it a LOT!!!!! the formula is always sealed and because of the seal - there is NOTHING anyone can do to it! also - the date on the can is stamped - like IN the metal - so there's no way that can be changed!!!!

If its craigslist I would be ok with it since I can check the item first before purchasing. As long as it is sealed on the inside and out, I would. Especially if $ is tight.

Personally I would not buy formula on line. It freaks me out.

i've bought alimentum from moms on here. we also looked on ebay / craigslist. i would buy it as long as the dates were good and they were factory sealed.

i even sold the similac advanced bottles we had originally through craigslist.
