WWYD? Birthday party related..
I had posted about some options we were toying around with for DS party, and I think we are leaning towards having a party at Little Gym-have a couple of questions:
We are planning to invite daycare friends, and family and other friends-most family will be OOS. If we do this option, we would need to have family back at our house as the party will only be from 1-2:30. Most of family live at least an hour or more away, so I know I will need to have people back at my house..
What would you provide for people food wise that wouldn't be too costly? I just feel like it's adding up so quick between the party, goody bags, pizza for the party (Little Gym does not provide). Just hate to have people come OOS and not provide anything to eat/drink.
Also, if you were only planning to have something at Little Gym, do you tell the grandparents and invite them anyway? This is our first time having it out (if we go this route)..

For kids parties I keep it to immediate family and they live oos. So I have them back to my house. Inused tondo a whole other meal but usually everyone eats at the party so now I usukky do appetizers and another cake.

Since you're already doing pizza at the party what about a long hero, a salad, pasta salad, maybe you could even grill some hot dogs/burgers if you wanted more variety? I would keep it casual.

If it were my family, I would expect to serve dinner at the house. I would probably do a bbq.
If they are just going to stop by, you may be able to get away with some finger food, chips and ice cream.

I have family that live OOS too. We had the kids party (all the family came to that)than we had everyone back at the house and served a hero, cold pasta salad, tossed salad and cake. It was perfect and honestly no one really expected anything.
