WR: Would you ever....

Get all dressed up in your wedding dress 1 MONTH before your wedding, have your FH get dressed in a tux, just to take pictures at Westbury Gardens with the photographer?

I cannot get past this idea, I find it a little odd.....

I wouldn't, but some people like it b/c they are truly relaxed and on zero time constraints...etc.

I just can't wrap my brain around my FH seeing me in my dress, getting into a car with myself all jazzed up and pretending it's my wedding day.

And AFTER shoot, no problem, but what if her dress gets dirty? Ripped?

I'm old school....the groom cannot see the bride before the wedding.

I wouldn't chance the bad luck

Absolutely not.

And, in the aftermath of my wedding, I can honestly say, it's not something I'd regret passing on either.

ITA. DH had to wait for my parents to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day. LOL.
Plus my parents kicked him out of their house at 11:59PM the night before our wedding...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I wouldn't... for many reasons

1. The pics would not be from my ACTUAL wedding day... they would just be like a photoshoot...

2. I wouldn't want DH to see me in the gown before the wedding day

3. What if something happens to my gown?

4. Pay for hair & makeup twice?

5. What if I look better that day than on my wedding day Chat Icon

I could go on and on...

But hey... if that's what someone else wants to do...fine with me. As long as I'm not in the bridal party and have to be dragged along! Chat Icon

I wouldn't, but if someone had their heart set on outside pics and didn't want to risk yucky weather the day of - I could understand it.

I wouldn't but I have friends that did it the
day before their wedding. I would just be worried about my dress getting destroyed.

The thing is...you will always know those pictures are a hoax...not from your wedding day. For me it's all about the sentimental value...not necessarily the best looking photo!

but you have to book it anyway, so the weather could still be an issue, and it's TODAY!

I wouldn't. I think a bride on Bridezilla's or Platinum weddings did this.

Re: WR: Would you ever....

I don't see the big deal. Of course, I was the bride who took my DH dress shopping, so I'm not superstitious about that sort of thing. It seems like the same idea as a day after shoot, just before. I would be nervous about messing up my dress, but if this bride isn't, no skin off my nose. I was very adamant at our wedding about not doing posed pics before the ceremony because I wanted us to be wearing our wedding rings in all of the pics, so that would be another issue for me. I'm sure their pics will be gorgeous, though, and that's gotta count for something, right?

I wouldn't.

We took all our posed shots before the wedding. It was still so special because we captures the moment DH first saw me in my wedding dress.

No, but I don't see the harm in it. Except the dress might get dirty. I'd rather do day after pictures.

that's b/c you are one of those weirdos that thinks a wedding is for something ELSE besides a pretty dress and nice pictures.

I am going to be judgemental and say is ridiculous. different strokes yes...but not every stroke paints a pretty picture. I don't see any of my friends doing this ish either...all for the perfect..WHAT?

you are not capturing your wedding...you are capturing you, on a random day, in a pretty dress.

I can see an "after shoot" when you have that "after glow"(Chat Icon ) but no...to me it takes the fun right out of it.

I wouldn't. I wanted DH to see me for the first time as I walked down the aisle and so did he. I will never look perfect, so I would rather just have the photos from that day.

I can see doing an after shoot if your photos were horrendous, but I don't even see myself doing that.

Re: WR: Would you ever....

No, I wouldn't do it before. After maybe... I certainly wouldn't mind having a reason to wear my gown again.

I know someone who did it a month after because she had terrible weather the day of her wedding and she specifically hired her photographer because of a pic he had in his office near the Verezzano brigde. She wanted that picture SOOO BADLY she was willing to dress up all over again.

Re: WR: Would you ever....

My photographer asked us if we wanted to do this and we declined. My friends did it and their pics are gorgeous. It was a non-rushed day and they didn't have to meet any deadlines. They had well over 1000 proofs and that was only their photoshoot.

The day of they had an additional 1000 pics....beautifull...big Chinese wedding.

As it turned out, we had 3 hrs to take pics so it was fine.

I'd say no because the photos we have truly capture the feeling of our wedding day. I wouldn't want to fake that feeling.
