I wouldn't, I don't even like using it now because of the chemicals. I would try to just avoid the sun as much as possible.

I didn't.

I covered her up and kept her shaded. I figured that if she was any place that made her uncomfortably warm then she was already too warm anyway. So I wouldnt take her to a park for long because it was too hot. I dressed her loosely and kept her carseat visor thing pulled down if she was in the sun. Under a tree or shade I'd open it up so she could see the world. I got lots of pictures of her in the sun at the park but she was never really 'exposed' for long periods of time. I mean 10mins or so max?

I figured I could sacrifice one summer for the health of her skin. She also has sensitive skin so I wasnt even gonna TRY figuring out which one would work with her.

Granted AJ was 6mo in the middle of Feb but she was born in Aug so aug, sept oct were all sunny.

After 6mo (the following summer) daycare asked permission for sunblock and I approved with my aveeno sunscreen. Since they took her outside.

now at a year and half she only uses sunscreen if she's outside for more than 10mins. For me 10min is a LOOOOOOOOOONG time. I'm talking Texas heat and Texas sun now! Chat Icon So we keep to Central AC. But she LOOOVES sitting out by the apt pool. So we have three bottles of sunblock ! haha

Isnt it strange how some peds say yes and some absolutely not..very concerning...

It's nothing to be really concerned about...there are differing opinions about it, just like so many other parenting issues (CIO, cosleeping, binkies, etc)

10 minutes outside gives me a sunburn i can imagine what it will do to her. I'll probably just use California baby. A month and a half early is a month and a half early. Rather use it early than none at all.

Thanks :)

I agree with this.

My ped told me I could use it at 8 weeks. Of course I kept him covered up for the most part, but he is Whitey McWhite, so he needs it.

And he wears a bathing suit, SPF shirt, hat with SPF and always hasChat Icon
