Would you go to Paris in a week?

My parents have a trip booked for Paris for next week, they are 68 years old, they were planning on still going but then today there was another attack in Today in Munich and my mom is saying she won't go. They will likely lose most of the money.

I would go over losing all of that money. In all likelihood, they will be fine and have a wonderful trip.

I wouldn't but I'm an anxious person. Especially these days. I wouldn't feel comfortable in France which would make me not enjoy it.

I have been postponing a trip since January. And I am from Paris and I feel it is very unsafe right now in Europe to travel and do touristic stuff. I am not sure what I would do if I already had tickets. But even if I went I would avoid all touristic attractions, subways, and I grew up there and feel comfortable. The Tour de France is scheduled to arrive in Paris on Sunday. I have knots in my stomach. Belgium had their national day and I was worried the whole day. People there are getting unsettled. It can happen anywhere anytime at this point. It's crazy.

I would. My old roommate is traveling through France and Belgium and she said its fine.

I would not go. Even my DH said the other day that he would not go to Europe right now, and he's not the type to worry about things like this.

I wouldn't go. I would have a panic attack just getting to the airport thinking about the trip. I'm such an anxious person

So originally my parents were like, we live in NYC it's ridiculous not to go, but now after yet another attack my mom doesn't know if it would even be enjoyable, all the tourist spots it's recommended to stay away from etc. dad still wants to go. My fear is, they are older, mom has injury and cannot run from danger....I don't know part of me feels it's stupid not to go but then will my mom be on edge the whole time?

Yes. I went right after the November attacks and again in May. It's my favorite city and I will never not go because of these pieces of garbage.

my administrator was in the south of France during the Bastille Day attack. We didn't know if she went to Nice and we were in a panic, listening to the names of those killed to see if she was among them


dh will absolutely not go to Europe now. So it's off the table.

France has many many cancelations of reservations from tourists right now. They would not be surprised. After November, hotels were down 30% in reservations. Nice cafes and restaurants look deserted right now 1 week later. Paris is back in action but people are aware it may happen again. I personally would not go to any touristic area. So that sucks.

Being that an attack just happened there, I would not go.

There are terrorists everywhere. There next attack could be in NYC, Long Island, Chicago...who knows. I wouldn't stop living my life because of it.

I would probably not go. In a Facebook group I'm in, a teacher has a few students in Europe right now. They were in Nice for that attack and they just flew to Munich yesterday and there was another attack today. She's freaking out, as are the kids and their families.
