Would you bring a Pack and Play on a cruise

Or just use their crib that they provide.

I feel like I'm driving myself nuts.

So far I'm bringing:
Pack and Play
TWO strollers
Backpack carrier

Plus two pieces of luggage, carry on luggages. I just don't know if the PNP is one thing I should cut out.

ETA: Scratch this question, we just looked at the measurements of the cribs they provide and it's too small for Tyler. We'll bring our PNP!

What kind of state room are you in?
Most of them there is no way a PNP will even fit in the room

The PNP will fit. It will be TIGHT at night but during the day you can fold it up and put it in the closet or under the bed. You can ask them to remove the table you have to give you more walking space. But it won't be much.

I would have him nap on your bed. This is what we did when we went on a cruise and we had a balcony cabin.

Re: Would you bring a Pack and Play on a cruise

We used theirs, but brought our own PNP sheets. Depending upon the size of your room, and we had a veranda cc class room, there was NO room for a full size PNP. I would use theirs. I don't think you will have enough room to bring 2 strollers, a backpack carrier and your own PNP. We had two pieces of luggage, a carry on and food b/c at that point we needed formula and baby food too.

My parents are in the room right next door so we'll be storing things with them for sure.

Ok, thanks! I'm hoping it fits because there is no way my son will fit in the crib that they have listed on their website.

He also never sleeps when he's in bed with us so I don't think it would work.

We have a balcony room so we'll be out there during naps.

I would, but I bring that thing everywhere with me.
I lug it to the pool on my block, the park, the beach, hotels.

It is just so nice to have a little jail cell for her.
I would bring it and pull it out on the pool deck if I were you also.

Oh if your DS is in diapers, and they don't have a pool for little ones, you can bring a blow up duck bath tub and have them fill it with water so it can be both a bath tub and a small pool for the little one. Chat Icon

no...if they provide...why bother...one less thing of the thousands of things you have to worry about IMO!!

I have been to a bunch of hotels where they provide a crib/PnP and I have never had a problem..they change the sheets every day for us!

Re: Would you bring a Pack and Play on a cruise

I went on a cruise last summer and brought a pack and play. Getting on the boat it was easy since they bring the luggage right to your room but leaving the boat all luggage has to be outside your room the night before you disembark. We had to carry the pack and play around until we left the ship and it was a pit of a PITA. We had a balcony room, 2 adults and 3 kids and had room for the pack and play. Like you said sometimes you just want to contain them somewhere and the PNP was perfect.

Leave it at home. It'll take up half the floor space in a standard stateroom, and it's an extra thing to lug with you.

Since it looks like you really don't have a choice, bring it. Are you flying? Or going out of NY?

I am bringing a fold up bed for Andrew just in case he doesn't sleep in the bunks but it folds up really small and is easy to travel with. And Alexa will be in the travel crib they supply.

The room is going to be really tight at night but when you fold it up, it may fit under your bed or in the closet.

Not sure what cruise line you are taking, but when I was on Royal Caribbean, I had a room with a balcony and there was the bed and a sleeper sofa. So if there is a sleeper sofa in your room you could also always have the boys sleep together. I remember the room being really tight and I didn't have kids at the time. So I would bring what was absolutely necessary.

This makes me feel much better! I really have no choice but to bring it since he won't fit in the crib they provide. We have the same size PNP here (it's a mini, not the one we are taking with us) and there is no way he could sleep comfortably in it.

I am traveling with alot of family members so I'm not really worried about lugging it around. THat's what grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are for right?! Chat Icon

I don't think he would EVER sleep with us, or with Jack. He is a wild man.

Obviously I'll try it if the PNP is too small and I have no room, but I really want to give the PNP a try.

We are going on Carnival.

It's hard to see online since we will also be pulling the sofa out to a bed also!

AHHH! Whoever said vacations are supposed to be relaxing never went away with two toddlers Chat Icon

Re: Would you bring a Pack and Play on a cruise

I would try to talk to someone at Carnival directly, because if you are also opening the sofa bed, I can't imagine where a PNP would fit in the room. I think once the sofa bed is open, it pretty much spans the entire width of the room. Not sure where a PNP would fit in this scenario.

Re: Would you bring a Pack and Play on a cruise

yes, but we bought a less expensive portable PNP for trips. Just feel better about using my own and we're guarenteed to have one. It packs up so small and fits in a larger suitcase we use to put in the sheets, diapers, sippy cups, some food, etc
