Would you allow your 8 year old girl to get acrylic nails?
Dd has a few girls in her class that have acrylic nails. Not a gel manicure, real fake ass nails.
I can't wrap my brain around it. Those suckers destroy your nails as an adult. Kids nails are still so thin and fragile IMO.
I feel like their nails will be completely ruined by the time they are 16!
Not only that, to me it looks so trashy. 8 year olds don't need fake anything imo.
Is it me?

Oh hell no!! You want to get a manicure....fine. Gel....go for it. Fake nails.... Not at that age. No way. At 8 years old I am sure I was still playing with Barbie Dolls...not asking or having my mother take me to get fake nails!!

No way. I wouldn't do gel either due to the uv light. I don't even get gel myself anymore, only powder or the extended wear regular polish.

No way! My 12 year old asks constantly saying "everyone" has them. (I have not seen anyone with them) and I told her when she gets a job and can pay for them, she is allowed. I barely have time to do my own let alone pay for hers. I did cave on the hair highlighting though.

No, although I do believe my mom let me around 10, which I find crazy now as a mom lol. A lot of my DDs friends have the press on fake nails, and I did question her best friend because they looked very good. So hopefully they were just very good fake ones.

Extensions???? At 6??
This is why this world is becoming a vanity driven place where women in their 20s feel the need for fillers and plastic surgery.
What mother thinks their 6 year old isn't perfect enough on her own? What is this teaching young girls?
Disgusting.

I let my DD get press on nails from the dollar store. Granted I don't think she ever has made it out of the house before they started falling off  but to answer your question no I would not let my 8 year old get fake nails from a salon

I've seen the press on ones for kids at the dollar store. So hopefully it's just those. I would never let my dd get the acrylic or gel ones. I might let her play with press on ones but I wouldnt let her go to school with them at such a young age.

Absolutely not, I don’t even have them as an adult, if I ever have a daughter she can get a manicure if we have an event or a vacation, maybe even gel so they don’t chip, but that’s where I would draw the line! And I’m not paying to keep up an 8 year olds nails!

Omg noooo and I am sort of relaxed about stuff like that. Like my 6yo has purple streaks at the bottom of her after, after her next haircut it was cut out. Ears pierced and I’ll totally let her get a mani/pedi (I saw polish only). But that is ridiculous and gross
