Woud you buy a house that didnt have a dishwasher?
Just started house searching. 2 homes we really liked BUT both didnt have dishwashers or space really for a dishwashers. DH said thats the least impt thing that would should worry about but it bugs me,

Well we sold one without it
It originally had one, but I took it out to add 3 large draws. Space was more improtant to me than the dishwasher. Guess the new owners felt the same.
Is there a way to take out some cabinets and replace it with one?
ETS: Our new house has one and I think I used it 3 times since we moved in 6 months ago.
So it wouldn't matter to me.

I would buy one without as long as there was a way for me to put one in.
I've lived with and without a DW and life sure is a bit easier with one.
I didn't buy a house bc the DW that was there was a 1/2. Not big enough for a meals worth of dishes and there was no way to add a bigger one.
My sister only uses hers on the holidays. She'd rather hand wash.
Really depends on what's important to you.

LOL. Yeah there is space in both of them to take out cabinets. But I see your point because both are small kitchens.

We bought one, and I almost immediately built an endcap, ran the plumbing and electrical so that we would have a dishwasher. There's no way we could function without one. We were in a panic when our dishwasher died, and it took about 2 days for me to get another one installed!

I would not buy a house if it didn't have space for a dishwasher. My husband and I both hate doing the dishes.

We bought our house without one, this is what we did. It wasn't a big deal it was installed quickly by my uncle, I dont' think this should be a deciding factor in your hunt, I wouldn't worry about it!

I use mine constantly and I dont have time to clean a zillion dishes every week. If there's no room to install a dishwasher, then its not gonna work for me.

We don't have a dishwasher, and we would lose cabinet space if we put one in. We've been here for over a year, and we're doing just fine without it.

It would not be a deal breaker, but I would absolutely prefer a dishwasher. Right now we are on week 3 of no dishwasher(it's broken) and I am about to cry. I miss it - we are researching them now... I spend about 30 minutes a day doing dishes that could be spent doing something else.

It was a must for me. My MIL doesn't have one, though and refuses to use mine when she's over. Same with BIL. When they're over, they hand wash my dishes...

I would. I've never had a dishwasher and do not want one. I still remember when I was kid and the way some dishes & glasses came out of the dishwasher. All bits & crap stuck to them. Also the smell when you open it makes me ill lol. I know they have improved over the years but I get skeeved by dishes from a dishwasher lol. I'd rather wash mine by hand.

Yes. I've never had a dishwasher in my life so I don't know what I'm missing. But when I redo my kitchen, I might get one put in, not sure yet.

If it didn't have a dishwasher, and I'd have to lose storage space to install one.... I'd keep looking. Dishwashers are a must IMO. Based on your screenname, you're going to need one!
