workshop idea - anyone up to do it on SLR cameras?

Is anyone up to "share" their knowledge of photography with us "novice"?

I have a Nikon D40x. I am trying things but would love if we could organize a workshop.

A few topics that come to mind:

- It's OK to let go of the AUTO mode
- A filter... what is that? What does it do? What kind?
- Yes, you need to take care of your camera but HOW? Chat Icon
- Must Have accessories

ETC.....

I am totally willing to pay for someone here to teach us if anyone is interested in doing it and participating.

Nikon School is coming to NYC in March & May.

You could also look into a continuing ed course at a local college.

Ohhhh, I would DEFINITELY be interested (even though I don't have my camera yet, but hopefully will in the next month).

I'd definitely pay & travel from Suffolk if I'm not working.

Good idea Sophie!! Chat Icon

Now...we just need a "volunteer" ( I think we should contribute some $$) to teach us.

I have a dvd that gives you an introduction to how to use all the settings on the camera...if I could only find the time to watch it.

So I attended the class yesterday presented by Berger Brothers but taught by a Nikon rep. It was a really great introduction. At the end, they recommended a dvd that Nikon put out that goes over the features of the D40 & D40X. Its called Fast, Fun & Easy and its only about $10 on amazon. Here is the link .
