Work stalkers!

OK, lets say you are at work and trying to reach somebody. You keep calling them and they aren't answering.
You don't leave a voicemail.
You just continue to call back every 3-4 minutes.
Constantly, incessantly.
5 times in 20 minutes.

Would you not stop, think, "hey maybe they aren't available? Hey maybe they are on another call and can't pick me up?
In fact, their Skype for business status is showing as "In a meeting" if I just check that.

Maybe I will leave them a voicemail?
Or send them an email?
Or IM them asking them to call me when they are free?

Or no, do you just continue to stalk them every 5 minutes?

Because I want to see if I am off base here.

I hate these people and actually say something about the behavior when I finally speak to them.

God. I have a woman at work who does this to me all the time!! I can't stand her so I for the most part don't pick up. She leaves no voicemail nor email, but keeps calling and calling. She now calls our main switchboard and has the attendant "find" me. I told the attendant to tell her I'm not in..so annoying.

OK so update. He apparntley called the front desk and said he couldn't reach me. So they were now trying me too

So they start emailing me all annoyed. Telling me I'm missing calls.

Which makes me annoyed. I respond in a snarky tone and now I'm in an email feud with them.



And it gets better- he (or the front desk) told our IT dept that my voicemail is not working and now I have these poor IT techs IMing me saying someone reported I am having an issue and they are looking at it now.


So I had to apologize to them and say, I am sorry they bothered you, but my phone is fine.

I'll pick up when I can, and if I can't, I appreciate a voice mail message, but one with more details than "Hi, call me back".

I'd rather deal with e-mail, then I can respond accordingly.

One of the managers on the team will try to call you and if ylou dont answer because you are in the bathroom or on lunch he will call your cellphone. Even if it's not an emergency.

I hate when people email you and a second later the phone rings and it's them asking if you got their email. Drives me nuts.

There was a woman in my old office that did that. And she would pay you a personal visit if the phone/IM/email went unanswered. She came in once while I was giving a presentation on a conference call. People let it slide a bit since she was the CEOs assistant but still...

I recently had the woman that has the office next to me leave me a message to ask me to meet with her briefly when I got a chance..... and I was in the hallway 2 doors down when she called.
