work rant - sick people
If you are sick , stay home !!!!!!! We get SO much paid sick time at my job and yet people come in here very sick, coughing everywhere without covering their mouths .
Drives me insane !!!!!!!!
I do not want to get your illness especially since I am pregnant

I totally hear you girl!! People come into the office hacking up a lung here all the time. I am ALWAYS wiping down my desk and in the printer/copier room I lysol everything. Just gross.

ugh - this is such a pet peeve of mine as well.
I am leaving work after this week and currently have multiple training sessions set up with co workers.
One of my co workers came to my desk and said, "I won't sit too close to you. I'm pretty sure I have the flu. You know how it is, don't use your sick time for when you are sick  "

I swear I am going to start wearing a hospital mask around here !
One woman has a hack for weeks and when I asked her about it she said it is allergies . EVEN IF it is ( which I have too ) GO TO A DOCTOR and get something for it and for G_D SAKES COVER YOUR MOUTH
Glad I am not the only one who finds it RUDE and disgusting. I would get it if we didn't get so much sick time, but we get 2 weeks sick AND we accrue it over the years , not to mention at least 20 days vacation . No excuse .

I don't know, it doesn't bother me that much as long as they keep their distance and don't touch my stuff. I understand that people need to save sick days for when their kids are sick, etc so I get why people drag themselves in.
However, I have my own office, if I didn't it would probably bother me more.

Eh I don't get it or understand. If you're sick and you are in a close quarters with people, it is rude to come in an infect other's with whatever you have. Now, I am not talking about a small cold, or a headache.
I am talking about people who are REALLY SICK , have the flu or hack everywhere . I know people would like to save their sick time for if their children get sick , but you know what, that is not my problem. Why should I be forced to interact with you when you are sick , in my face , and sharing the same air. STAY HOME
When a person does that , they are basically saying I don't give a sh!t about the people around me.

Well, I think it's crazy to come in with the flu, but for pretty much everything else, I never really get upset when people come in sick. I may not like it but I get it.
Also, as much as you might think that them saving their sick time for their kids is "not your problem", they may be thinking the same thing about you being pregnant, i.e. "it's not my problem if you get sick, I need to save my time". It's not nice, but it's probably true.
I don't let it get to me.

You're right about the " that's not my problem " thought process.
I think what bothers me the most about it, is we get SO much sick time here , and no one says anything if you are out. I work for the government, and we have such a good sick time plan that I just don't understand why.
I guess it bothers me too much
 since I have been annoyed all morning over it

I felt the same way yesterday..I as at Marshalls and the cashier lady was like OMG my throat is so sore I can barely talk…I was like, yea not going on her line.
