Wood Gym/Play Sets
DH and I are looking into getting a swing set for DD.. and we're just trying to figure out why there is such a big price difference between the sets offered at toys r us and places like creative playthings...is the diff in quality that significant?

If you look at each one in person, IMO you can see why. Even CP has a cheaper line and a more $$ line and you can clearly see why in person.

I agree. We were going to buy a cheaper swing set and at the last moment, I asked DH if he wanted to go see CP. Once we got there, he said he did not want to go with the cheaper swing set. CP is offering 0% financing and a ton of coupons. It was more....maybe by $700 but we decided over the long term it was worth it.

We just recently got a play set. I'd definitely look at them. Ask about guarantee. To us is was important to be able to go up in the playhouse too & many will not support adult weight.
In the end we found a local company who designs playdate with the features you do & don't want. Builds it on sight (accounting for your property, so it's straight). It's made of treated pine, & they use all the swings/slides you can purchase through lowes/home depot.
I'm in NC, but maybe there are builders in NY looking for business who much do this?
