Wont take meds or vitamins anymore!!!

So DS has an ear infection...he is used to taking meds b/c this is his 5th infection.. but it is getting increasingly more difficult to give him ANYTHING!! He hates the taste..i dont blame him.. I even have a RX additive to flavor the meds.. NOTHING!! I put it in his yogurt...NOW he hates yogurt and wont even look at it!! n
Even tylenol (unless its one type "infants" brand but I cant' find it)'

Even vitamins..the min he sees that syringe..he starts running and crying.. I tried tricking him and putting it on a spoon....nope!!!

Putting it in the bottle is iffy.. b/c sometimes he finishes it sometimes he doesn't....AND isn't it true that dairy min the effects of the meds?? Im at my wits end!!! He has another week on the antibiotics.. and is teething and needs tylenol or motrin.. uGGGGGGG Oh and when I FORCE it in his mouth.. he chokes and throws up!!

Awe Linda... I was there. I feel your pain.

Can you talk to the Peds about another med with better flavor? When Mason had pink eye the Ped put him on a med that he said he heard has the best flavor. It was strong, but worked fast. Mason loved it. Of course... 2 weeks later he got a double ear infection. Ped said he can't use the same meds twice in a row so put him on amox that had a pink flavor. I put that in his babyfood and he was fine with it.

What about pudding, icecream or something sweet like that?
First give him the icecream without it then get a little icecream with a spoonful of the meds to make sure he got it or get it in two spoonfuls
Thank goodness I can still get that nasty Vits in his food and he'll take it. Smells gross

Hmmm putting it in dessert stuff...I'll have to try that...which means I have to buy that!!

There was a mom ad DS's old daycare that i saw give her DD tylenol - she would have been arrested if a cop was there - it looked like tourture the way she was sitting on DS and holding her down just to get the medicine in her.
As soon as everyone got up - no tears or nothing, just the way it needed to be done.

My friend put the Rx in a little juice/or applesauce depending on what it is. His son knows that when the little bit is gone, he can have more. This way there is no issue w/ unfinished bottles.

Can you double team your DC? Have Dad distract him with something shiny and you sneek in with the Rx?
