Did you notice that she had "According to the report, the young woman had poorly controlled type 1 diabetes." That may have something to do with her reaction.

I used to get it. Then I got burned one time and stopped. My OBGYN told me NEVER get it done. It's not healthy, so he says. I love doing it but now I'm scared to 
My friend got an ingrown hair and had to go to her GYN because it got infected. She goes to the same GYN as I do and he told her to never get it done again. He said that he has treated more infections because of it than anything.

I agree that there is a risk but this was a woman who had poorly controlled type I diabetes and now people are going to talk as if waxing so sooooooooo terrible for healthy people. I don't get a waxing when I am sick. She did.

I was told this too. My doc said that there is hair in certain places for a REASON... and that removing it in those areas is not the best or healthiest idea.
(Not that I run around like wild kingdom down there or anything! ) But I was told some of this extreme hair removal is just not wise....
