With all this PCOS talk
Is there something you should look out for, which would make you think this is a possibility?

Re: With all this PCOS talk
There are certain characteristics that women with PCOS tend to have, but not always and some women have some and not all of the characteristics. Some of them include... irregular or no periods, irregular bleeding; increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, back; acne; ovarian cysts; just to name a few. There are also different levels of severity to PCOS.
Apparently my gyno diagnosed me with having polycystic ovaries when I was 19 and never cared to tell me in the 10 years that I was a patient of hers. I only found out when I got my records when I switched doctors.
If you are having concerns, talk to your dr about having some testing done.

yup all those characteristics----plus rapid weight gain is also a sympton.
i have very very painful ovarian cysts that rupture---and my doc never bothered explaining that this might be what it was.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me, too!!! I can't believe somebody else was put through this. I was on BCP for 7 years and was none the wiser!!

Re: With all this PCOS talk
Yeah, nice right? I was on BCP since I started going to her because I had horrible acne. Once the acne cleared up I just continued the BCP. I should have known something was up when I mentioned to her that DH and I were TTC and she automatically suggested clomid if I didn't get AF within 30 or so days (and still never mentioned the PCO!). Luckily I did, so I didn't go back to her and she's lucky I didn't since I would have given her a piece of my mind.
sorry for hijacking the post
