Wishing Well
Will you/did you have a wishing well at your shower? I can't decide. I don't think I want the book wishing well since I'm a teacher and can get many free/discounted books from scholastic. With the wishing well, I think sometimes you may just get a bunch of junk. What do you think?

Re: Wishing Well
I am a teacher and I asked my friend to do the books instead of cards.... but no wishing well. IMO you can never have too many books plus why should I go buy them when others can pick one and write a sweet sentiment in it for posterity.
I'm hoping that there is a wishing well at my second shower because all those little things * lotion, powder, bibs etc) add up quickly!!

Re: Wishing Well
I didn't have my shower yet, but I did have a wishing well at my bridal shower. I think they are great!! Usually when someone has one, I buy them a main gift and then something inexpensive to place in the wishing well. I always get something off their registry. I registered for a lot of items that are under $7, that I really need.
I do love the book idea as well. Both my cousins did this.

Re: Wishing Well
We are not gonna have one for my shower because I want to have a clothes line instead. Every baby shower I have been to lately had a clothes line and they got TONS of adorable outfits in all differant sizes. My SIL didn't have to buy any clothes for almost the whole first year because she got so many on the clothes line.
But, if I wasn't having a clothes line, I would def do a wishing well

Re: Wishing Well
We had one for my sister and she got a lot of awesome little things you might not think to get like spoons, bowls, wipes, frames, pacifiers, etc. I definitely want one!!! I decorated a baby hamper and had all of the guests put the gifts inside.

Re: Wishing Well
I think a wishing well is good to have...I received books instead of cards..and everyone wrote something in each one...I would specify what type of baby items you would prefer for the wishing well on the invite...an other idea have everyone bring a package of pampers...I had this at my baby shower too..and I still have pampers 4 months later

Re: Wishing Well
You should have one. My sister had one for my and that there is where you get the little things that you don't think of.
They also had a diaper table. My DS didn't need diapers for a few months. That was sweet!
