Wish me luck on Monday
I am having a CT myelogram as a pre-surgical test due to 2 herniated discs in my back
basically, they do a lumbar puncture  to inject die into that area and then do a CT scan
the scan with the dye will show any compression in the nerves and discs
I am freaking out about the pain involved, I am going to beg for some valium before the procedure

if you are very nervous - they should be able to give you something...
what type of surgery will you be having? i had a spinal fusion in my neck (c6-c7).

thanks, this is the possible surgery I may need to have, depending on what the CT Myelogram shows
did you have to have a CT Myelogram first?
I plan to ask for something but they told me that I will be awake during the procedure
I am so nervous

Good luck! I would call your dr. beforehand to ask them to prescribe a sedative for you!

it is being done through the radiology dept at the hospital. would I talk to them or call my referring doctor (an orthopedist)?
