winter question for moms of infants still in infant carrier

Are you all using a Bundle Me for the cold winter mornings? If you're not what are you using...just heavy winter coats? I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

ETA: I'm afraid of just using a blanket b/c I'm afraid he will pull in over his head while I'm driving. I dont have a child mirror in my car as I can find nothing that works well. We have a long ride to the sitter as well....about 45 minutes

Re: winter question for moms of infants still in infant carrier

I worry about using Bundle Me's or heavy coats since I have read the car seats are not crash tested with stuff like that between the baby and the seat.
I know they don't recommend you use them for that reason.
I think just blankets over her- you are only in and out of the house or wherever really quickly- then the car is warm. (I have remote start)

I'll use crocheted blankets with holes in them in case she pulls them over her face, but I don't even worry too much about that.

I used the bundle me last year. DS was born in Jan. I didnt have to worry about a jacket in there since I put him in the carrier in the house, zipped him up and went in the car.

This year I'm getting him a fleece or something like this since he's in the convertible seat now

Thanks girls.....I want to use blankets but I'm just so concerned about him pulling them over his head. Chat Icon
I wouldn't be so concerned if we had a really short car ride but we're in the car for like an hour each way.

Last winter when DD was still in her infant car seat..we used this thing that goes over the carseat. It was great! We used it ALL the time and best part is it's easy to take on and off.

I used the Kiddopotamus posh pouch last year and was really happy with it.

I'm sad DS is about to transition out of the infant seat.

We used this thing by Kiddapotamus for DS last year. I LOVED it! It goes around the outside of the seat so it does not interfere with any straps. It kept DS so cozy! I know I'm going to miss it this year. External Image

My mom actually got it for my shower but I've seen them at BBB and Walmart. I'm sure BRU carries it too.

This is what we had also! It was great... and if it was really cold, I also put a blanket under neath it and zipped it up... So she couldn't kick it off.

Lisa... I highly recommend this.

We got ours at Buy Buy Baby.

This is the best thing ever, and totally safe to use. They don't recommend using the Bundle Me.

I don't want to use the bundle me in his carrier because it's not actually recommended since the seat is not tested with anything like that.

We got the BRU version of the posh pouch in the picture above. I think it's just called the infant carrier cover. Same idea, just looks a tad nicer, lol.

Does anyone use this with a Chicco Keyfit car seat? I'm not sure if this would fit. Thanks!
