Will i really have to do this?

Do you really have to give yourself shots everyday? (Or have DH or someone else do so?). That is one thing I didn't know about!

It's really not that bad!!!

In my IUI cycles I did injections every other night for a week. The needles are tiny (and I am a HUGE baby!!) .... and they really aren't bad at all!!! I would always have DH do it and never looked! Unfortunately when you get the needle ready (with gonal-f, at least) it would make a click sound I always cringed at that sound It's SOOOOOOOOOO tolerable though and really nothing with nothing! You can do it!!!

It was those injections that helped lead to my BFP!!!

ETA: Just a tip, you can always ice the area first if you really want to! I did that at the beginning but after a while it just got annoying and time consuming.. After the first few injections I would just take it like a champ!

I just started the injections this cycle...not bad at all I promise....like jumping in a cold pool...once you do it..you are fine!

I do the shots myself, in my upper thigh. I do not ice, I didn't feel it to be necessary, but that's just me. The needles are so tiny...it's really a piece of cake. Just keep in mind that it will eventually lead to your BPF!!!!!

I'm in the very beginning stages of my first IVf cycle and I am dreading the injections., but like everyone said, from what I hear it's really not that bad at all.

I was petrified and took me like 45 minutes to administer those shots, but I did it and it does get easier!!! Dont worry!!! you'll be fine!!!!

The subcutaneous ones (in the fat) are pretty painless and you can do them yourself. The intramuscular ones are the ones that i can still feel it and my butt would be sore the next day. DH give me these and it's also high adviced by my RE NOT to be done by myself.

ive done three cycles with injectables so far. the first DH gave me all of the shots. the next two i did them all. i do ice the spot for a few minutes before - you barely feel anything when you ice it.

its not something i love doing, but its the only consistent way that i grow follies, so you do what you gotta do.

Yes, and what got me thru it- was shots everyday to get preganat doesn't measure up to all the pain in L& D I will have to endure.
Just remember why you are doing it and make it easy! I used play a particular song when I took the shots- make it spirtual for yourself

I am unsure if DH would do them for me, he seemed a little unsure too when we were talking about it But if one goes in my butt then no way would I be able to do that.

The person who told us about all of this just kept going on about hoe horrible the pain was and if she hadn't gotten pregnant right away she would never do them again... I heard it vi DH, but it sounded so horrible!! (Of course this person can be a bit of a drama queen so I am glad that you all have eased my fears a bit!!)
