Why is my 11 month old so constipated and what can I do?

DS has been constipated for over a week at this point!! What causes constipation? I don't know what I am feeding him that might be causing it and what I should stop feeding him to make it stop. I feel like he does eat a lot of starches through the day (cereal, whole grain waffle, mac n cheese, etc.), but it's balanced with fruit, veggies, yogurt, cheese.

We've been adding prune juice to his morning and bedtime bottles AND giving him prunes with his oatmeal. No bananas or anything...

Any advice? He strains and pushes with all his might just to produce little pellets! I do the suppository on him, which helps, but how do I avoid constipation?

Try straight up pear juice. At least 4 oz a day... Cut back on the dairy for a couple of days. To ease up on it try a little bit of straight juice every day until he regulates..

Waffles, pancakes, pasta, dairy, and cheese back my DS up. Beware whe you make th switch to whole milk which made his constipation worse. We used miralax - half a cap a day

Try cooked pears or kiwi

My DS was soooo constipated. I cut back on dairy and gave him pear juice. Prune juice did nothing. I eventually had to start him on Miralax.
Be careful with the Puffs. I didn't realize at first but most of them are made of rice which we all know is NOT good for constipation.
