Why is it that when you do a renovation...
that they ALWAYS find other things the matter?
My FIL is doing the work in our house and now that they gutted the bathroom, they found that the window was basically slapped in with no support or insulation and its warped. So we had to replace that, which we didn't expect.
Next is that the FLOOR WAS UNEVEN. Its an inch higher in one spot. So now they have to even out the floor...
Lastly, when they did the gut, the pipe that the shower drain was connected to basically came off in his hand.
Makes me wonder WTH would've happened if we didn't do the bathroom?!

Because you never know how things REALLY are until you are actually living in the house, lol! I remember when I was buying my home and would remark to everyone how well kept the house was. That all changed when I started to notice the shortcuts the prior owner's did to make things LOOK nice without spending the money.

because some homeowners just want to cheaply and quickly fix things or haven't done any up-keep on the home in years. Isn't homeownership great? 
But seriously, just keep in mind that in the end it costs you more money, but now it's done right and it's safe for you and your family.

Murphy's Law darling! This is JUST the beginning. Our washer died the day before we were going to move in filled to the brim with hot water and white vinegar and I realized there is no escaping it!! Don't worry you'll survive!!

I hear ya and you know that! lol
But seriously good thing you opened the walls and found all this before you re did your whole bathroom or another room and had a pipe burst or the window break. Would have been ALOT worse then!
