I don't really understand it. He has this amazingly comfy bed - and yet he sleeps on the floor - right under the door (I can actually see his nose pressed up against the opening)
Is this common? 4 our of 7 nights he falls asleep on the floor for bedtime also, and we just transfer him.

Maybe because the floor is cold?

I don't see him once he's out of the bed which is why I want the monitor the scans the room.

my son started doing this too last week. I think for some reason he feel like he is getting away with being out of bed without getting in 'trouble'

Re: Why does he sleep on the floor for naps?
my dd would do the same thing.
I think it had to do with getting a new bed and a new sister in the same week. we stopped trying to give her naps, because she would be up there for 2 hours and not fall asleep.
then we did the car thing, but that was a pain in the butt because we would have to drive for almost an hour before she fell asleep.
then we got serious about napping in her room. the first day was the hardest, she got really upset about being in there. she would fall asleep on the glider, the floor, anywhere but her bed.
went on for a few weeks. at night, it was tough because she wanted DH to lay down next to her.
but after a while we told her daddy had to go night night too so she had to sleep in her big girl bed.
now, she naps in her bed. but it's still hit or miss.
so that was really a long winded version of I don't know.
